Ninilchik Alaska

Here is one of my favorite images, the composition is somewhat ambiguous; Is the subject the wild flowers or the volcano across the Cook Inlet? I have received some sharp criticism in the past for this composition but I keep coming back to it. It remains to this very day one of my favorite images that I have ever taken, I think it is because of the subject juxtaposition.

It was taken with my first digital camera in the summer of 2000, a Nikon Coolpix E950 and which had only a two megapixel sensor. We went halibut fishing just after I took this shot, I lucked out and pulled in decent a 90 lb. (40kg) fish and my freezer was full. Damn, I need to get back there!
